LITTLE STYLE: Story times at the library.

20130812

One of my favorite things about life in the States is the many morning activities available for stay-at-home moms to do with the kids all through out the year and specially during the summer. I especially love taking Anya for the story times at our local library. I started taking her when I returned from Pakistan after my father passed away and in those early months when I didn't feel like meeting many people or doing what I used to do before, I regularly started going to these. Anya was just discovering the world around and she wasn’t even walking when we started going. These became a little distraction and a reason to get out of the house in those early sad and grey months. Now, our trips are not that regular but we still love going to them whenever we can.

Anya wears: Lace Dress from Outfitters Junior, Hair Pin and Boots (seen earlier here) from Old Navy.

Outfitters Junior is a Pakistani kids line that has super adorable baby/kids fashion at affordable prices. Check out their Facebook page here. And if you haven’t shopped there yet, make sure to do on your next visit. Unfortunately, these are only available right now in their outlets in Pakistan. (The yellow coat Anya wore in this post is also from them.)

Also I think dresses look so much better when dressed down with boots! Please tell me you think so too? :)

WHAT WE WORE Plaids and stripes and an outfit post with a view.

Hello lovely people, I’m back. Sorry about that unannounced break, I just got caught up with a few things going on and blogging got pushed out of the scene. Some days it does get a bit hard trying to do this blogging thing regularly, even though I feel so passionate about continuing with it. But anyways, sharing an outfit post today from a few weeks ago when we went camping. The view from up here was breathless and sometimes it just hits me more than others what a beautiful part of the world we live in. This was one of those moments.

WHAT WE WORE Monday Blues and an outfit share.

20130622-27

Anya has been under the weather. What started as fever turned into a cough that has been making her throw up quite a few times. As a result, things have been a little low, and nights are a bit hard, trying to make her feel better. However, during the day, she is our same old naughty little one. Running around with mischief in her eyes and making us laugh and go a tad bit crazy. So yeah, that was a bit of an update. Also that having a sick kid reminds you of the huge blessing of good health. I think of all the babies in the world that have health issues, that have scary illnesses and my heart breaks. To have a child that is healthy and happy, is the biggest blessing in the world, mA1. Help us Allah in never ever forgetting that and keep our little ones safe in Your care. Ameen.

FYI
1 mA stands for MashAllah. and means God willing. It is commonly used by Muslims whenever they are appreciating something to show that all good is from Allah.
2 Dadi is paternal grandmother in Urdu. Bilal’s sweet mother is Anya’s dadi:)

WHAT WE WORE when it is sandals weather finally.

20130504-18

Happy Monday morning to all of you sweet people. So I desperately need to shop for Anya as she is pretty out of clothes these days. Her shoe situation is pretty bad, let me tell you. But this little sandal purchase for her on Amazon last month, turned out to be a big success. I love the look of the traditional style Saltwater sandals that I was seeing everywhere, but they seemed a little tight for these chubby feet when we tried them on. These ones, the sweetheart style as they call them work perfectly. Here she is wearing them with her chambray dress from last year that we will wear one way or another till her head absolutely wont fit through it! Yes I love it that much! Hehe :)

20130504-91

20130504-65

Anya wears: Chambray dress from Target from last year, Tights from Baby Gap, Saltwater Sandals.

Mama wears: Top from Target, Jeans from Forever 21, Shoes from REPORT found at TJ Maxx, Pearl ear studs that my dad brought from a trip to China many many years ago.

How is it going with you guys? It has been a while. If only I could get all the posts in my head written and published. Sigh.

Thanks for stopping by!

WHAT WE WORE Uninspired and a quick outfit post

I have been a bit lazy the past week or so, finding excuses to not leave the house and just hang out and do something at home. Which would be awesome if I attempted the millions of things that need to be done and tried all those recipes, projects and toddler activities I have been pinning, but seems like I’m not in the mood for those too these days. Hoping this phase is short lived and the inspiration returns super soon.

Sharing a little outfit post meanwhile, hope your weekend was awesome.

WHAT WE WORE You and I and sunny evenings.

April onward, Seattle starts showing its beautiful side that makes the thought of moving from here so hard. It has been beautiful outside and our evenings are usually spent outdoors these days.

Whatever is going in your personal life, there is just something peaceful about being outdoors with your little ones that makes you feel at least a little better.

Style Check: The ‘Anya and her Khalas’ edition

I love dressing up my little girl, and our style is a little eclectic because I love mixing and matching what we have to come up with new outfits. Even when shopping for my little girl, I try to look for classic pieces that can be mixed up with other items in our closet for some unique looks. I also prefer not to dress her from head to toe in any particular style or from any one store, just to give our own little personality to the things we wear.

So well, with five girls in the house (mA), while we were with our family, you can imagine the amount of dressing up and taking pictures, that took place. I thought it would be fun to compile a little post on some ‘Anya and khala fashion’ from our little Pakistan break. Here it is. Hope you enjoy!

Adorable, right? I sure think so and say a silent prayer in my heart when I see Anya with our lovelies! Maybe you noticed Nadiya and Waliya wearing the same outfit in at least one place? We have always shared our clothes with each other and sometimes we exchange our outfits/shoes/accessories when we meet. I quite love it. Makes us feel closer with each other.

Also I think we should have more baby fashion on the blog. What do you say? wink!
