A simple DIY gift box idea

I love giving gifts and thinking of ideas to fancy up simple gifts. Here is something I have tried which I wanted to share earlier but changed my mind when it seemed too common sense and simple! Well, I’m still doing it anyway because maybe one of you hadn’t thought of this before? I hope so!





We all have these random gift boxes that come with some purchases or even with gifts we get. It would be totally fine to use them for gifts as they are, but it feels so much more special with this simple idea.

All you need is : a hot glue gun / any kind of ribbon, lace, fabric strip / the gift box you’d like to repurpose

Just cover up the store name or whatever with the lace/ribbon/fabric etc using the hot glue gun and viola, you’re done!

(Of course this really works with simple gift boxes which don’t have too much going on them, but it would be fun to improvise!)

DIY: handmade gift for a little guy’s room

This little gift was made for a friend’s little guy last summer. He turned one, and my friend asked not to bring any gifts for the party. But you cant go to a first birthday party without a gift, right? Perfect occasion for a handmade gift, I thought.

This project that I had found via Pinterest, had been on my board for a while and I thought it might be a good idea to try. Specially because little Ibraheem was making the transition from his mommy daddy’s room to his own:) 

All I needed was a found branch, templates for the letters that I printed out in a bold font, some scrapbooking paper, and twine. After I tied the twine to the letters and the branch, I put some glue on my fingers and went over it just to make sure it wont untie itself. Initially I tried hanging using wire. That didn’t turn out well at all so I ended up using twine instead. Much better, right?

I quite loved how it turned out. Would be a beautiful wall hanging above the crib or a door hanger for that matter!

diy gift for the hostess: ‘thank you cookies’

Hey lovelies,

I love showing loved ones I care by giving them handmade gifts once in a while. Don’t you think there’s just something extra special when you make something with your hands for someone? I sure do!

Today I’m sharing an older project. I made this last summer as gift for a very special hostess.

I made these nutella sandwich cookies using this recipe I found via pinterest, for my mom’s best friend.

And then I wanted to present them in a special way too so all it took was some scrapbooking paper, some cutting and pasting and they were ready to go! What do you think?

I liked them so much, I made it again a couple weeks later. This time as a thank you for a friend who offered to do some mother-daugther pictures for us <3
